I don't usually write about myself, but I thought I'd give it a try after Hex offered me a spot on here.
I am the living embodiment of a trash gremlin; given the choice I'll always make something myself out of something destined for the garbage before I'll consider buying it. Everything from notebooks, to zines, to beads, to clothes, and I have far too many hobbies- writing, reading, drawing, painting, crochet, wire work, baking, cross stitch, foraging, photography, vulture culture/bone collecting, bead making.... etc, etc, etc. The list goes on.
Aside from all of that, I guess I embody the gremlin vibes with lifestyle too, or I try to anyway- A loooot of time spent outdoors, usually with the one close friend I've got here, as much as I can manage, usually straying away from the parts designed for actually walking on to go hide in the woods to see how many types of mushrooms/fungi I can find(looooove them!), make mini 'fairy huts', or snap a couple photos or videos between raw-dogging a hunk of cheese and half a loaf of bread with some cider as lunch.
I grew up moving around a lot, but always in rural areas. The most inhabited place I've ever lived is on the outskirts of a town just outside of Portsmouth, and that only lasted a year before I was running back to the house in the middle of nowhere. The travelling is in my blood though, my family only ended up in houses over the past two generations, originally I started out in a caravan as a kid. And to be honest, if I could, I'd do it again now. It gave us a lot of freedom you don't really get when you're stuck in a house.
I don't really get to get out all that much anymore because of my health, but I still grab any chance I get, even if it's just a warm day in the garden with my pets. I've always loved animals; once my grandparents actually ran an animal rescue/sanctuary, so at one point we had everything from hedgehogs and hamsters through to foxes and horses. Now I've still got a few pets, home never felt like home without animals around. These days there's a lot less though; a dog, a cat, a hamster, two guinea pigs, and a cornsnake. All rescues though, so I suppose that hasn't changed much.
Anyway. I guess in a nutshell, I make stuff and go places when I can. Nice to meet you!
